SolarEdge Technologies is expanding its residential portfolio in the UK, introducing a new smart energy management system.
The SolarEdge Home will manage, monitor and optimise solar energy production, consumption and storage in real-time. This will allow homeowners to more efficiently manage energy in their home through an app, maximising PV consumption and working with homeowners preferences, said the company.
“Electrification in the home is increasing, driven largely by the adoption of electric vehicles, heating and cooling systems, and smart home devices,” says Christelle Barnes, UK Country Manager, SolarEdge.
“After changing the way power is generated and harvested from the sun with DC-optimisation, we are now transforming the way in which homeowners can maximise their consumption and easily manage their solar energy.”
SolarEdge Home consists of an Energy Hub Inverter, which will support the integration of the SolarEdge Backup Interface in the future. This will enable flexible backup power in the event of grid interruption.
Additionally, SolarEdge Home includes an Energy Bank Battery, Home Smart Energy Devices, Energy Net – a propriety wireless mesh network for connecting the device – and an Energy Operating System, which will automate storage and scheduling decisions.
It follows SolarEdge launching its 100kW three phase inverter with synergy technology in the UK in July.
The new solution will be showcased at Solar & Storage Live 2021 at the NEC Birmingham, which is set to take place between 23 and 25 November.
Solar Power Portal will also be at Solar & Storage Live 2021, providing live reporting across the three day event. You can find us at Solar Media’s stand, A21.
