Atrato Onsite Energy acquires Hylton Plantation Solar, takes on Nissan solar PV project

Commercial solar developer Atrato Onsite Energy is to take on te development of a 20MWp solar project for Nissan after acquiring the company establish to bring the project forward. 

Hylton Plantation Solar was established to develop the project for the car maker, but Atrato will now assume that responsibility after completing the £10.6 million transaction. 

Nissan has signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) on a 100% take-or-pay basis for the behind-the-meter private wire solar installation.

The deal continues Atrato’s expansion in the market after it invested £6.6 million into a rooftop solar PV system located atop a Marks & Spencer (M&S) warehouse in June.

So far the company has developed a 496MW pipeline of assets, of which 55MW are already operational.

Gurpreet Gujral, mnaging director at Atrato Partners, Atrato’s investment advisor, said: “We are working closely with the UK automotive industry to deliver further green energy initiatives and to help them on their path to net zero. This is one of the largest private wire solar projects in the UK and is a great example of how major UK manufacturers can benefit from [Atrato’s] low cost, traceable clean energy.”
