Glass-glass solar module leader Solarwatt has established a new UK subsidiary to reinforce its presence in the market.

As part of this, it is establishing a UK office and warehouse in Surrey, as well as making some key personnel changes.

This includes Daniel Adamsbaum joining Solarwatt Technologies as sales manager for the North, having worked in the solar industry in Europe and the UK for more than a decade, most recently at Engenera.

“It’s great to join a true world leader in photovoltaics and smart energy storage solutions,” said Adamsbaum. “Solarwatt’s continuous drive to design and manufacture innovative products to the highest quality is a great match for my aspirations.”

He is being joined by Neal Goddard, who joined Solarwatt in May 2018 as sales manager, UK and Ireland, and will now take on the role of sales director for the region, and Pol Spronck, who will be managing director of the UK subsidiary.

Goddard added: “The big demand we’re seeing for our glass-glass PV panels, backed by our industry-leading 30-year product and performance guarantee, shows people want energy independence and to future-proof their investment with safe, efficient and reliable systems of the highest quality.”

This expansion follows a “huge summer” for the company, which saw it launch a new battery storage product developed in collaboration with BMW.

The German PV manufacturer has been eyeing further expansion in the UK market for a while, growing its team in April following “exponential growth” in its sale numbers for the previous year. Despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Solarwatt achieved sales growth of 100% last year it noted.
