Housing association-run solar installer, Raven Renewables, has signed its first contract with Slough-based Sparta Homes Limited, to install solar panels at new Berkshire homes being built.
The solar installation company has named itself the first organisation owned by a social landlord – Raven Housing Trust – to expand it sustainable technology fitting services to other companies.
The contract will see air source heat pumps and high-efficiency solar panels being installed at two newly built houses in White Waltham, Maidenhead over the next few months. Real-time data will also be made available through a remote monitoring system connected to the solar panels.
The scheme aims to provide “more affordable and energy-efficient living environment for residents.” The installations, Raven Renewables claimed, will save up to £600 on annual bills, with hot water likely being heated for free for over six months in the year.
“Installing cutting-edge technology such as this to harness sustainable energy sources will make a huge difference to the people who move into these homes, helping to keep their household bills low at a time when many people are struggling to cope with spiralling energy costs” said Mark Gardner, business development manager at Raven Renewables.
Raven Renewables recently signed an external deal with a social landlord in Kent to install solar rooftop panels on 12 properties in Sittingbourne.
