Huawei is extending its partnership with MYTILINEOS’ Renewables and Storage Development (RSD) Business Unit.
The partnership will see a memorandum of cooperation signed between the two companies for the supply of Huawei string inverters for PV plants in the UK as well as Uzbekistan, Spain and Cyprus, with potential for more markets.
The global technology giant’s investors include built-in digital technologies that can increase dynamic MPPT efficiency, the company said, along with MBUS communication running on AC-line and Smart IV Curve Diagnosis.
Solar Power Portal recently caught up with Huawei to discuss its inverters, its wider FusionSolar range and its plans in the UK market.
Jacky Chen, managing director of Huawei Technologies South Balkan Region, said they were delighted that MYTILINEOS, “one of the most successful solar development and EPC companies globally” has trusted them with the opportunity to be an active part of their portfolio.
The partnership builds on previous successful cooperation between the companies in MYTILINEOS’ Greek home market.
Nikos Papapetrou, general manager of the RSD Business Unit of MYTILINEOS, said they’d taken the decision to strengthen its cooperation with Huawei “in a large part of our portfolio globally, greatly based on the reliability of the inverters that ensure our plants’ performance even in harsh environments, as well as on their integrated advanced attributes that facilitate installation and reduce our operating cost”.
“Huawei’s leading position worldwide, its comprehensive service offering as well as its customer-centric approach have convinced us that we have made the secure choice”.
The news follows MYTILINEOS energising Gresham House’s 30MW/30MWh Byers Brae battery storage project this week.
