BayWa r.e. UK and Schroders Greencoat sign O&M agreements for 265MWp solar portfolio

BayWa r.e. UK has signed a series of long-term portfolio agreements with Schroders Greencoat to manage 265MWp of solar assets

The agreements will see BayWa r.e. take on 16 solar PV sites owned by funds managed by Schroders Greencoat, with the company providing a range of preventative and corrective O&M services to ensure the assets operate at peak efficiency.

Morgan Harris, managing director of BayWa r.e. Operation Services Limited said: “We’re delighted to continue the operation and management of Schroders Greencoat’s solar portfolio. Through our long-term partnership we recognise in them our own commitment to the green energy transition. This agreement represents a huge amount of efficient green energy production and signifies a major step towards the UK ending its reliance on fossil fuels.”

Lee Moscovitch, partner at Schroders Greencoat commented: “Schroders Greencoat prioritises stable and reliable working relationships with our contracted O&M providers which we view as an essential component in delivering on the inflation linked income that our products are designed to deliver. This collaboration is no exception.”

BayWa r.e. said it has so far brought over 5.5GW of energy online, and manages over 10GW of assets. In July, the company announced the completion of Bracks solar farm, which brings its total installed solar capacity to 350MWp in the UK. Two other solar sites being developed by the company have been granted planning permission.

BayWa r.e. is also building a 160MW solar park in South Derbyshire, and a 49.9MW site in South Gloucestershire.
