Trina Solar has signed a three-year framework agreement with global renewable energy company Low Carbon to supply at least 1GW of its PV modules for Low Carbon projects throughout Europe.
Low Carbon has already secured 1GW of production volume to cover its near-term project build-out plans in the Netherlands and the UK.
These projects will receive Trina Solar’s recently launched Vertex N TSMNEG19RC.20 modules. These feature 210mm n-type i-TOPCon cell technology and have a maximum power output of 605W. The dual-glass module also improves bifaciality to 80%, increasing efficiency and delivering a better energy yield, according to the manufacturer.
The newly signed framework agreement will grant planning security for Low Carbon’s projects pipeline whilst also accelerating the contracting process for future orders.
Justin Thesiger, director of operations and asset management at Low Carbon, said: “The agreement with Trina Solar marks an important milestone for Low Carbon as we grow our international renewable energy portfolio. Their high bankability and ability to commit to high up-front delivery volumes made Trina Solar a natural choice.”
In December 2022 Trina Solar’s business unit, Trina Storage, helped Econergy reach a “significant milestone” in its UK energy storage pipeline by signing the independent power producer’s first engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement for its 50MW/102MWh battery energy storage system project in Yorkshire.
