Local Politics and Green Business Forum—Building a Better San Diego

The San Diego Chapter of the U.S. Green Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free community event to foster a positive, constructive dialogue between public officials and community members on the sustainable business economy in San Diego. Public officials and those running for public office to represent the greater San Diego region will speak directly with members of the public about the current and future sustainable business economy in San Diego.

When: Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Where: Center for Sustainable Energy, 9325 Sky Park Ct #100, San Diego, CA 92123

Confirmed participants: Doug Applegate, Democratic candidate for California’s U.S. House of Representatives 49th Congressional District; and Lisa Shaffer, City of Encinitas Deputy Mayor.

The panel discussion-style format will include short individual presentations by speakers, followed by Q&A, and a networking/meet & greet. Light refreshments will be served following the presentation.

The event is intended to create a friendly, receptive venue for speakers to energize voters and to foster a positive, constructive dialogue about our green business economy.

The event will include a 10-minute presentation by Eva Roufe, member of the U.S. Green Chamber San Diego Chapter’s board of directors, on permaculture and food sustainability.

When: Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5-8 pm

Where: Karl Strauss Brewery Company in Sorrento Mesa, 9675 Scranton Rd., San Diego, CA 92121

The event will include a 10-minute presentation by John Reaves, vice president of the U.S. Green Chamber San Diego Chapter’s board of directors, on gray water and rain collection techniques and the cost-benefit analysis.

Where: Stone Brewing Co. in Liberty Station, 2816 Historic Decatur Rd., #116,‎ San Diego, CA 92106

The event will begin with a 10-minute presentation on net energy metering by Ted Torre-Bueno, President of Empowered Energy Solutions and U.S. Green Chamber San Diego Chapter board member. A networking mixer will immediately follow the presentation.

 

The U.S. Green Chamber San Diego Chapter is co-hosting a free networking event in collaboration with San Diego Green Drinks.
